Welcome to Football Meister. We value the trust you place in us by using our app. This document explains what data we collect, why we do so, and how we handle it.

1. What data do we collect?

To provide the best football experience and ensure fair competition, we process the following data:

• Account Data: When registering via Firebase Authentication, we store your email address, name (Display Name), and age verification (Age Consent). This is required to secure your account, ensure you are of legal age to use the service, and for password recovery.
• Preferences: We store your favorite club and its associated competition. We use this to automatically place you in the correct leagues (e.g., the "FC Twente League").
• Profile Data (optional): If you choose to do so, you can set a profile picture (photoURL). This is displayed in the leaderboards so your friends can see who they've defeated.
• Game Data & Predictions: Your entered scores, earned points, earned badges (unlockedBadges), and game statistics (UserStats) are linked to your unique User ID.
• Technical Identifiers: We store unique Push Notification Tokens from your device. This is strictly used to send you reminders and game updates if you have enabled notifications.

2. How do we use your data?

We use your data exclusively for the functioning of the app:

• Calculating standings in the leaderboards.
• Personalizing the app based on your favorite club.
• Sending (push) notifications (if enabled) for reminders to enter your predictions.

3. Third Parties & Analytics

Football Meister uses trusted partners to optimize the app and keep it secure:

• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the app is used (e.g., which screens are visited most). For this purpose, we use cookies and pseudonymous identifiers to collect data on app usage. This helps us improve the user experience (UX).
• Stripe: For any payments (such as joining paid pools or extra features), we use Stripe. Football Meister does not store any credit card or banking details. Stripe processes this data according to their own strict security standards.
• Firebase (Google Cloud): Our database (Firestore), hosting, and authentication run on Google Cloud infrastructure. Your data is stored securely in data centers within the EU (region europe-west4).

4. Your Rights (GDPR)

You are in control of your own data. You have the right to:

• Access or change your data via your profile page.
• Have your account and all associated data deleted.

5. Security

We take security seriously. Your data is protected via Firebase Security Rules, meaning only you (and authorized backend processes) have access to your specific predictions and profile settings.
